No more chances for Eels

THERE are no more chances for Parramatta and Souths when they clash in the NRL finals
this weekend.

The winner advances and the loser go on holidays.

The Eels tackle Souths in a knockout final this Saturday, October 10, at Bankwest Stadium at
7.50 pm.

The winner will meet minor premiers Penrith, in a grand final qualifier on Saturday, October
17, at ANZ Stadium at 7.50 pm.

The Eels have their injury concerns following their 36 to 24 loss to Melbourne on Saturday
night at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane.

Blockbusting winger Maiko Sivo is out for the year with a knee injury and fellow teammate
and Blake Ferguson is having scans on a leg injury today, Monday, suffered in the loss to the
Melbourne Storm.

Eels coach Brad Arthur is considering moving centre Waka Blake to the wing and bringing in
Brad Takairangi into the centres because he is down on outside back troops.

Brad Arthur also has other concerns with forwarding Marata Niukore placed on a grade one
tackle crusher tackle charges.

If he takes an early guilty plea with the judiciary he will be suspended for two weeks.

The fast-paced and exhausting game between the Eels and Storm took its toll on both teams.

It remains to been seen if the Eels back up physically and mentally from the first week of the
finals.

Traditionally, teams that play the Storm, have been jaded for their next encounter.

It is only six weeks ago, Souths thrashed Parramatta 38 to nil at Bankwest Stadium.
