Party time in Parra: Welcome to our biggest New Year

AUSSIE DJs Bag Raiders, Cut Copy and favourite Wiggles DJ Dorothy the Dinosaur will headline the biggest New Year’s Eve Party ever at Parramatta Park set to keep everyone dancing into the night.

The free annual event happening on Tuesday 31 December 2024 from 5-9.30pm has doubled in size with two main stages, family-friendly activities, delicious food trucks and a spectacular fireworks finale set to go off at 9pm.

City of Parramatta Lord Mayor Cr Martin Zaiter said the City’s New Year’s Eve Party will be bigger and better than ever with something to offer everyone.

“Parramatta loves to put on a show for the whole city – we’ve just lit up Parramatta Square for Christmas and New Year’s Eve in Parramatta Park is the next big celebration,” Cr Zaiter said.

“Families and adults both old and young are invited to join the party to relax and celebrate a year which has seen Parramatta take a step closer to becoming a global City.

“Whether it’s the bold vision of Parramatta 2050, unveiling the Broadway-style design for Riverside Theatres or one of the many park openings such as FS Garside and Milson Park, to the upgraded Lake Parramatta – 2024 has been an unforgettable year for Council.”

Entry to the event is free, however party goers will require a wristband to enter the Crescent Stage. Wristbands will be available to collect from 1pm on New Year’s Eve at the Crescent Stage wristband tent free of charge and on a first come, first serve basis. All other areas do not require a wristband to enter.

There will be 30 different food vendors onsite for those looking for a bite to eat with a picnic area provided to relax and a grab a drink from the Kombi Keg Bar.

“Parramatta prides itself on providing larger than life events fit for a 24-hour economy,” Cr Zaiter said.

“This event provides not only a fun night out, but a safe way for people to welcome in the New Year at a secure site.

“We know how to throw a party in Parramatta – our flagship Parramatta Lanes festival was the biggest yet with more than 200,000 people flocking to our CBD – so you don’t want to miss our New Year’s Eve Party.”
