Based in Parramatta, Sydney Samba is a community of friendly folk who learn and play the vibrant, explosive & energetic rhythms for which Rio Carnival is famous. Our focus is on Brazilian community & neighbourhood percussion, with a particular emphasis on Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo Carnival rhythms. We also dabble in other Brazilian regional styles such as samba-reggae, maculele, Afro, Afoxe and funk, and the occasional western rhythm!
